We recently fabricated a set of Plastic Recycling machines for the ISK Middle School, replicating the set up we have in the High School. In addition to the plastic shredder and extruder, we designed a new injection press. In place of the previous lever system the new press uses a gear on rails and old car steering wheel to inject the plastic. The new system needs a lot less force to create the required pressure which we hope will allow our youngest members to start creating cool products out of discarded plastic.
