Recently we hosted, Faith and Shamim from Reform Africa, a social enterprise based in Uganda that transforms discarded plastic bags into sustainable, waterproof and durable bags.
They are interested in expanding their product range and start recycling hard plastics, and wanted to learn more about what the processes involves. They spent 3 days in Nairobi working with the Plastiki Rafiki team creating unique products out of waste plastic. They are now on their way back to Uganda with an injection machine and some molds.
We are excited about the ever expanding plastic recycling network in East Africa and we look forward to supporting them as they expand their recycled plastic fashion business – watch this space!
