Project Update – Protecting rhinos, cleaning up the environment and creating local employment!
We wrote previously about our project with Loisaba Conservancy to create branded “fence flashers” for their rhino fence out of recycled plastic (https://plastikirafiki.com/…/protecting-rhinos-while…/).
The project is well underway and the flashers are currently being tested and seem to working well!
The project in numbers:
– Created over 9000 Flashers
– Recycled over 1 ton of discarded plastic and 20kgs of Tetrapack collected from the local environment.
– 26 people in four different workshops employed directly in production and many more down the supply chain
