Plastiki Rafiki was honored to design the medals for the inaugural #BeBoldGoGold childhood cancer awareness run organized by the Faraja Cancer Support Trust which took place at Karura Forest last Saturday. The medals are made from 100% recycled HDPE collected from the environment with an engraved Acrylic off-cut inlay.
Over 1,000 people registered for the event including 400 children from 7 schools. Over 15 corporates also joined hands to make the event an amazing success!
The event raised over Kshs 8M from sponsorships, donations and registrations. The proceeds will be allocated towards regular weekly programs at Kenyatta National Hospital, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital and the balance will go to a medical fund to support our golden heroes. (Children with cancer).
