Over the last few months we have been working together with the Construction by Design club, experimenting with simple plastic composites – adding sand and other aggregates to waste plastic in order to create strong and affordable paving tiles and bricks. We are still early on in the design process and need to conduct a lot more testing on the material but we are already excited about the potential for communities to create low cost and affordable building materials combining sand and waste plastic.
